The Pennsylvania Alliance for Geographic Education is the National Geographic Education Foundation's outreach arm in the Commonwealth. The Alliance is continuing the efforts begun by Governor Robert P. Casey and Gilbert M. Grosvenor in 1988 to serve as a grassroots organization of teachers helping teachers.
The mission of National Geographic's Education Foundation is to motivate and enable each new generation to become geographically literate. In Pennsylvania, the Alliance supports the Foundation's mission by partnering with various educational organizations and teachers, K-16, from throughout the Commonwealth to enhance citizenship through geographic literacy,
The Pennsylvania Alliance for Geographic Education is involved in a multi-year campaign with the National Geographic Education Foundation and other alliances throughout the country.  The campaign, My Wonderful World, is designed to excite students about the world around them and understand the local, national and world relationships.  To learn more about the campaign please view the My Wonderful World web site.
To better serve the Commonwealth, the Pennsylvania Alliance for Geographic has divided the state into eight administrative regions.  To find the regional coordinator in your locale, please view the listing of regions and register to be part of the Alliance.
